If you’ve never visited Lake Tahoe in the midst of summer, I highly encourage it! Sarah and Patrick traveled in from Ohio, and I traveled down from Portland to celebrate one of the most beautiful days. The Venue, Valhalla Tahoe was situated right on the lake and looked like a scene from a movie.
These two had curated their day in the most beautiful ways, using the natural vintage theme of the venue, deep dark forest green from the trees and the soft blues from Lake Tahoe. They hired me to come down a day early to capture their rehearsal dinner – on a boat tour across Lake Tahoe! We left the dock and rode across the lake over to Fannette Island – where we took portraits as the sun set, and their friends and family sat and enjoyed dinner from inside.
The next morning was warm and the air was so clear. Lake Tahoe was as blue as I’d ever seen it with the sunrise coming over the lake. I always arrive thirty minutes early to capture the vibe of the venue as things come together and capture photos of the scenery before the day begins. It was a quiet and intimate setting; filled with close family and friends, most of which traveled from their home state of Ohio. Always an incredible thing to witness; when so many travel from so far to see such a beautiful couple in a beautiful place.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and surrounded by trees, many tears and even an acoustic guitar player. This crew loved to dance, so when we maneuvered into the reception, I knew they were ready to get down! They danced HARD!
For late night snacks they had a coffee bar and an ice cream cart! It was so adorable and so much fun! I am so grateful I got to be a part of such an incredible day with some of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
